Not an easy ride
This is not your traditional west coast ride. I've ridden south to north before; I've ridden north to south many times. But what is beyond those hills to the east? What's it like to ride in the Mojave Desert or the Sierra Nevadas and east of the Cascades?

Why go at all?
Well, my friends have a great party at the end of July and I want to go. I'm in Carlsbad and the party is in Parkdale, OR. As of today, gas is over four bucks a gallon! Also, I want to do Climb to Kaiser with my friend Laura and The Death Ride with my friend Walter (which is another great get together).
